Would you dress for success? Would it make a difference?
My colleagues recently introduced the Grooming workshop at the Generic Job Fair. The idea was for something short, sharp and simple that can help our jobseekers in terms of their appearance, their motivation and thus overall, increase their chances of success at the interview level. In addition, we were trying it inhouse to see if we can be cheaper, better and faster, since we know our jobseekers best.
One jobseeker that benefited from this was Azlan. He came for our jobfair today, after failing at many interviews. He was formerly working in the marine and construction sectors. He came wearing t-shirt and jeans. During the Grooming presentation by my colleague Mr Wong (whose hair is always in place!), we noticed that he was the one who was paying the most attention.
