At 7 years old, I wanted to be a nurse, at 12, I wanted to be a teacher and at 18, I wanted to be a military officer. I somehow always had an answer. I was having lunch with a colleague at a nearby coffee-shop a few days ago. Colleague commented that my tummy has grown bigger, it’s now more obvious that I’m pregnant. Indeed I’m, with 2 more months to go before baby is due. Conversation started to move to how rude Singaporeans are on the train. I take the train to and from work everyday so I lamented about Singaporeans (even the young ones) who hog the priority seat; those who pretend to sleep and men with haversacks pushing their way in, oblivious to passengers behind them. Some would ‘size me’ up from head to top from afar and still refuse to give up their seats. Makes me wonder why priority seats are named as such when those who need them most don’t get these seats first.
