NTUC’s e2i Youth Career Fair At *SCAPE Supports Young Jobseekers with Skills, Networks and Resources For Meaningful Careers
Singapore, 7 October 2025 – NTUC’s Employment and Employability Institute (e2i) launched the Youth Skills & Career Fair @ *SCAPE, graced by Senior Minister of State, Ministry of Defence & Ministry of Sustainability and the Environment, and Chairman of Yayasan MENDAKI (“MENDAKI”), Mr Zaqy Mohamad.
The two-day fair, which spans from 6 to 7 October, comes at a critical time. Singapore’s youth unemployment rate rose to 5.7% in June 2025, up from 5.4% in March – the first increase for those under 30 this year, even as unemployment rates for most other age groups eased (MOM, Labour Market Report Q2 2025). At the same time, Manpower Minister Dr Tan See Leng highlighted in Parliament last month that permanent employment rates for fresh graduates in 2025 have improved compared to the previous year.
“Youths today are stepping into a job market that is being rapidly reshaped by accelerating technological change amid evolving global economic forces. We understand that this can be challenging, which is why it is so important that we strengthen early career support and give them the best possible start,” said Deputy Chief Executive Officer, Career Services & Partnership Group, e2i, Mr Brian Tan. “The Youth Skills & Career Fair @ *SCAPE brings together employers, tools and resources to help young people prepare, connect and advance with confidence.”
Helping Youths Navigate a Shifting Job Landscape
The fair underscores e2i’s commitment to helping youths adapt to a workforce shaped by digitalisation and artificial intelligence. Hiring employers such as Far East Hospitality, OOm, and Trampolene were present to engage young talent.
Jobseekers also tried e2i’s suite of AI-powered career tools – including the NTUC AI Career Coach (AICC), e2i Resume Builder, and e2i AI Interviewer – designed to sharpen job applications and interview skills.
Stronger Outreach, Stronger Support
The Youth Skills & Career Fair is an initiative under e2i’s Prepare-Connect-Advance (PCA) framework, launched in August 2025, which equips youths with career know-how, connects them with employers and industry networks, and provides access to mentors and long-term progression opportunities. The framework helps youths in Singapore transition confidently into their first or second jobs after graduation, reducing future job insecurity and giving them a strong foundation for meaningful careers.
A Fair Beyond Jobs: Resilience and Growth
Beyond job opportunities, participants also benefit from career advisory, professional image and presentation workshops, talks by influencers, LinkedIn-ready corporate photoshoots, and the ‘Mindset Reset: Resilience Tools for a Thriving Life‘ workshop, which equips youths to reframe limiting beliefs, manage stress, and thrive in both work and life. The newly revamped SCAPE provides a dedicated youth space, making it a fitting venue for the two-day fair, which is aimed at equipping young Singaporeans with the skills, networks and resilience to thrive in a changing job market.
Industry experts and partners are also providing insider perspectives on employer expectations, helping youths stand out in a competitive job market.
Extending Reach Through Yayasan MENDAKI
To ensure no community is left behind, e2i is also strengthening outreach through partnerships with organisations such as Yayasan MENDAKI. This partnership helps extend e2i’s programmes – including career fairs, skills workshops, advisory services, and job-matching support – to more Malay/Muslim youths and young workers.
The collaboration was underscored by the presence of Mr Zaqy Mohamad, who attended the event in his capacity as Chairman of Yayasan MENDAKI. He was joined by Dr Wan Rizal, Director of Stakeholder Management, Career Services and Partnership Group (CSPG) at e2i. Together, they reaffirmed the importance of ensuring that all communities have equal access to career support and opportunities.
“Today’s career fair with e2i is the first under our new term of FA4. This year, MENDAKI has partnered with e2i on seven career fairs – a clear reflection of our ongoing commitment to support our youth, especially at a time when many are concerned about job opportunities. Through our partnership with e2i, we are not just organising career fairs – we are also equipping our youth with the tools to secure employment, understand the evolving job landscape, and prepare effectively for interviews so they can confidently pursue their aspirations,” said Senior Minister of State, Ministry of Defence & Ministry of Sustainability and the Environment, and Chairman of Yayasan MENDAKI, Mr Zaqy Mohamad.
“As AI reshapes the world of work, NTUC and e2i are here to support our Malay/Muslim workers especially our youths, every step of the way. Through NTUC, e2i and MENDAKI under M3 Focus Area 4, we are building a strong support network to help our Malay/Muslim youths upskill, adapt and access meaningful employment opportunities,” said Director of Stakeholder Management, NTUC’s e2i, Dr Wan Rizal.
Looking ahead, MENDAKI will continue to be involved in future youth-focused initiatives, ensuring that e2i’s resources remain accessible to every community and empowering all youths to prepare, connect and advance in their careers.
