The Union Training Assistance Programme (UTAP) is supported by the NTUC Education and Training Fund (NETF) to help our NTUC members in skills upgrading and re-skilling. NTUC members can enjoy the following course fee support:

NTUC Starter members (aged between 18 to 25 years old) can enjoy course fee support of $200 per year under UTAP-Lite.

What is UTAP?
Union Training Assistance Programme (UTAP) is a training benefit for NTUC members to defray their cost of training. This benefit is to encourage more NTUC members to go for skills upgrading.
Did you know?
NTUC members aged 40 and above will get an increase in funding support from $250 to $500. NTUC Starter members will enjoy course fee support of $200 per year.

How to apply for UTAP?

How much UTAP support is available?
NTUC members enjoy 50% unfunded course fee support* for up to $250 per year when you attend courses supported under UTAP. NTUC members aged 40 years and above enjoy up to $500 per year. NTUC Starter members can enjoy 50% unfunded course fee support for up to $200 per year when you attend courses supported under UTAP.
*Unfunded course fee refers to the balance course fee payable after applicable government subsidy.

Eligibility Criteria

All NTUC members can apply for UTAP. However, the following criteria must be met to be eligible for UTAP:
  1. NTUC members must commence the course or complete the standalone assessment within the UTAP-approved period, as indicated under the list of UTAP-supported courses.
  2. NTUC members must submit either a certificate of completion of training and assessment or training attendance sheets showing at least 75% attendance for the course(s) and sit for all prescribed examination(s) if any.
  3. NTUC members must submit claims via the UTAP system within 6 months after completing the course/ assessment
  4. NTUC members must not claim full funding from company sponsorships or other types of funding.
  5. NTUC members must have paid-up NTUC membership before course/ assessment commencement, throughout the entire course/ assessment duration and at the point of claim.

How do I check my NTUC Starter membership status?
Note
Before claiming for UTAP/ UTAP-Lite support, please ensure your training commences within the UTAP approved period. Application of UTAP/ UTAP-Lite claims on training that starts after the expiry date will be rejected.
NTUC members who are paying full membership fees will be eligible for UTAP. This includes Ordinary Branch members and General Branch members of affiliated trade unions, members of Associate Affiliates of the Congress, members of U Associates and members of the Labour Movement Communities. NTUC Starter members who are paying Starter membership fees will be eligible for UTAP-Lite.
