Ms Jean Tan
Chief Executive Officer - Designate, Employment and Employability Institute
Jean Tan is a seasoned leader in the non-profit and international development space, with over three decades of experience spanning social impact, public diplomacy, and strategic communications.
She most recently served as Chief Executive Officer of the Singapore Business Federation (SBF) Foundation and Chief Social Sustainability Officer at SBF, where she championed corporate purpose and mobilised businesses to build a more inclusive and resilient Singapore. In this role, she led strategy, partnerships, and impact initiatives that deepened private sector contributions to society.
Prior to this, Jean was CEO of the Singapore International Foundation, where she shaped its global vision and expanded its reach across healthcare, education, arts and culture, and good business. Under her leadership, the organisation strengthened its governance and delivered programmes that fostered cross-border collaboration and deeper understanding among diverse communities. Its initiatives won national and global acclaim for design excellence, strong partnerships, and tangible impact.
Jean began her career in the Singapore Public Service, including roles in the Information & Arts and Manpower ministries and as a diplomat in Washington DC, where she pioneered Singapore’s first overseas public affairs office and advanced cultural diplomacy efforts.
Deeply committed to building a more inclusive and interconnected world, Jean continues to contribute through board and advisory roles, both locally and abroad, bringing together people, ideas, and partnerships to drive meaningful and lasting social impact.
