Jean Tan is a seasoned leader in the non-profit and international development space, with over three decades of experience spanning workforce development, international relations, philanthropy, and social impact. 

Most recently, she served as CEO of the Singapore Business Federation (SBF) Foundation and Chief Social Sustainability Officer at SBF, where she championed corporate purpose and mobilised businesses to build a more inclusive and resilient Singapore. She led strategy, partnerships, and impact initiatives that deepened the business community’s contributions to society.

Prior to this, Jean was CEO of the Singapore International Foundation (SIF), where she shaped its global vision and expanded its partnerships and programmes across healthcare, education, arts and culture, and good business. Under her leadership, SIF strengthened its governance and delivered initiatives that fostered cross-border collaboration and deeper understanding among diverse communities. Its programmes won national and international acclaim for design excellence, strong partnerships, and tangible impact. 

Jean began her career in the Singapore Public Service, serving in the ministries of Information & the Arts and Manpower, the Workforce Development Agency and as a diplomat in Washington DC, where she pioneered Singapore’s first overseas public affairs office and advanced cultural diplomacy efforts.

With leadership experience spanning the public, private, and people sectors, Jean is deeply committed to building a more inclusive and interconnected world. She continues to serve on local and international boards and advisory bodies, bringing together people, ideas, and partnerships to create lasting social and economic impact.
